Injustice Speaks for the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted (AIDWYC)

Having recently secured charitable status, AIDWYC wanted a strategy to integrate events into their overall organizational objectives.  Esteemed Events was hired to conduct an Event Audit to determine how events could contribute to the following organizational objectives: Fundraising, education and awareness, list generation, and celebrating successes.

Esteemed Events interviewed key stakeholders, examined the marketplace and evaluated AIDWYC’s internal resources as they related to events.  From this a twice annual speaker series called Injustice Speaks, designed to inspire a dialogue around issues of injustice, was created.

With limited resources, Injustice Speaks needed to be an event that could be managed internally by a small staff.  That said, AIDWYC wanted Esteemed Events to manage their inaugural event, creating the blueprint from which all subsequent Injustice Speaks events would be run.

The first Injustice Speaks launched in December 2010 and featured guest speaker Dennis Edney, lawyer for convicted terrorist Omar Khadr.
