The Girl Event

The Girl Event

Created by the principals of Esteemed Events, The Girl Event was an electric esteem-building event series for teenage girls.  Designed to educate, entertain and inspire girls; empowering them with excellent tools to establish a healthy sense of self worth. The event, which was marketed as a field trip to schools, launched in Toronto Fall 2003 to a sold-out crowd of 1300 teenage girls.  The Girl Event returned for two more successful shows in October 2004.

This event series secured sponsorships from some of Canada’s leading corporations, including Rogers Communications, Hudson’s Bay Company, Proctor & Gamble and Universal Music.  The Girl Event received broad media coverage across all four major Canadian news outlets, Citytv, CBC, CTV and Global.  In addition, the creators, Jennifer Hilborn and Sarah Varley, were profiled on CTV’s Canada AM for their social entrepreneurship.  For more information on this event and its results please visit The Esteem Dream.
